5. A lot of the other bears made fun of him and thought he was dumb.   Joe knew better.  He knew just because he was a nice bear who didn't want to be rude --- that didn't make him dumb.  But he did understand why some of the bears might think he was dumb.  He though it was dumb himself to say YES to everything.  Not being able to say the "N" word really did seem dumb.

So he'd find a private place and practice and practice and practice.  "NNNNNNNNN --- NNA --- NNBBB --- NNNCC ---NNNNNNDDD --- NNNNIJK ---- NEEEE --- NDD --- ?"  He'd practice for hours and hours but nothing worked. 
He just couldn't say NO!
