WINGEARS LIFE ON EARTH
Wingears can dodge and dart about so fast that theyre almost impossible to catch. They have an uncanny way of making themselves almost invisible by landing on a colorful plant, wrapping their wings around their bodies, and blending in. Another thing "butterfly-like" about Wingears is their love for the sweet smell and nectar of flowers. This sometimes becomes a problem since the bees also love the nectar. A cute defensive measure the Wingears have is to slap their little bodies and leave such a pollen cloud that they can get lost in it. Spiders are another threat to the Wingears. They have to be on constant guard not to fly into the almost invisible webs. Wingears even have to be careful of some humans who think they are butterflies and try to catch them for specimens to add to their collections. That reminds me. Theres one human that the Wingears always have to be on the lookout for. PROFESSOR NETTUM boasts the largest collection of butterflies in the country. Not only does he collect them for himself, but he sells to rich collectors and museums all over the world. Since hes never had a real close look, he thinks Wingears are an unidentified species of butterflies and that if he can catch just one it will make him even richer and more famous . If he captures the first one, he will be able to name it after himself and have his name in the prestigious Book of Butterflies for posterity. To catch just one Wingear has become his driving force --- an obsession |
